DD+ UK bra guide | Here's why DD+ bras should be a UK high street standard | The LDN Gal

Do you struggle to find pretty dd+ bras on the UK high street?

If you have a bust that is bigger than a DD+ cup in the UK, I am pretty sure you feel the same way as I do on this subject. Here is a slight rant at why DD+ bras should be a UK high street standard, as well as a handy guide on the best UK high street shops and online stores to buy pretty DD+ bras.

There is literally nothing more frustrating than browsing the high street, to find that pretty much every store does not cater for you.

Oh, and if by chance they do, you can almost guarantee that you will be offered far less choice and probably far more expensive items.

Looking for a cute balconette bra, a sultry longline piece or a stick-on bra that will actually work with your backless dress? Good luck girls…

Another personal irk? Why on earth is everything overly padded? Lets face it, if you are DD+ cup, the chances are that you do not need gargantuam padding in your bra, and if it is a necessity, perhaps a slight padded lining that enhances your natural curves would simply do.

Where to shop for DD+ BRAS ON THE UK HIGH STREET

With all this in mind, I have made it my mission to find a selection of pretty, affordable and varied DD+ bras you can find on the high street and online, here are the places you will want to shop-till-you-drop:

Figleaves

Figleaves is an excellent place to shop for bras with a host of different brands available and lovely exclusive items too. Expect a variety of colours, styles and girly prints. The best thing about the brand, they offer A-K cup lingerie. So, everyone is included!

Tuttie Rouge

Tuttie Rouge is a wonderful brand that offers DD-G cups, with a fantastic array of styles, colours and cutesy details – I am a little bit in love with their girly prints and all that harness detail. You can check out my review of their Alexa bra and high-waisted briefs here.

Boux Avenue

Although a slighty smaller collection of DD+ bras, Boux Avenue certainly offer some stunning pieces. Expect bright colours and more traditional styles. Boux Avenue also offer free in-store bra fittings, so handy when you want to ensure that perfect fit.

M&S

Marks and Spencer are not the first place you would think to go to for pretty bras. Not only do they offer a gorgeous selection of DD+ cups printed and lace bras but they also offer an incredible array of floral and patterned lace bras, as well as vibrant bralettes –¬†and what girl doesn’t love a cosy bralette?

Curvy Kate

Curvy Kate¬†is a fantastic brand in the sense that it exclusively offers D-K cups bras, what a treat! Again, expect a vaiety of styles and print. The best thing? Everything isn’t padded to oblivion.

Where do you shop for your DD+ cup bras? Do you struggle finding pretty lingerie too?

Tutti Rouge Rougette Alexa Lingerie Set

Tutti Rouge lingerie review

If you are female with a chest bigger than a DD, this post is for you. Growing up with a bust that was somewhat larger than this was quite frankly, a nightmare.

If you did manage to find pretty lingerie, it would cost a small fortune and be a harrowing investment at best. If you found a bargain, there was a 90 per cent chance it was pretty hideous.

So, you can imagine my delight when I discovered¬†Tuttie Rouge¬†on an Instagram spree. Tutti Rouge are a UK-based company that specialise in curvy girl lingerie, catering for sizes from a D to J cup –¬†it is a pretty exciting find to say the least.¬†

Tutti Rouge Rougette Alexa Lingerie Brief Close Up

So, what did I think of the Alexa lingerie set by Tutti Rouge?

I was delighted when the Alexa bra and briefs arrived, forming a truly beautiful and complimentary set to say the least.

The Alexa bra features molded cups, an adjustable harness design and patterned mesh panel detail, the heart decal to adjust its straps was a pretty cute addition, I must admit.

The Alexa brief completes the set, these high waisted brief feature sheer panels complimented by black patterned lace detail and a two-tone patterned mesh panel centrepiece.

Tutti Rouge Rougette Alexa Lingerie Bra Detail

Overall, I am very satisfied with this set, it is hard to find pretty and practical lingerie as a fuller-busted woman and the selection of underwear at Tutti Rouge offer just that.

I have to admit, the harness and heart detail on the bra and the high-waisted briefs were an absolute winner for me.

Tutti Rouge also offer a selection of supportive and decorative bralettes for those who prefer a soft lace cup style.

What is your favourite item from the Tutti Rouge collection? Do you struggle to find pretty lingerie in your size?

September Birthstone Ring by jewellerybox

What girl doesn’t love a sparkly ring on her finger? Even more so when it is an absolute steal. While browsing the jewellerybox website I utterly fell for this sterling silver sapphire gemstone ring*.

When it arrived a few days later in the quaintest little box (just look at all the love and care put into the packaging) I could not wait to see it. Inside was the most dainty ring, a slender sterling silver band adorned with a sapphire gemstone.

Due to its slim band, this ring is absolutely perfect to stack alongside other rings and there are an array of rings on the jewellerybox website for it to be placed atop. Just think of the pretty stacked creations you could be wearing!

Now, the avid reader will realise that I am in fact an August baby, and thus, a peridot would be my gemstone. However, the deep blue of the sapphire stole my heart in this case and I went against the zodiac, stars and astronomy.

So, what do think of the September Birthstone Ring?

Do not fear though, because each star sign is covered and there is a wonderful array of birthstone rings, earrings and necklaces at jewellerybox, making the collection a perfect present all-year-round for that special someone in your life.

When it comes to jewellery, everything I wear must be sterling silver or gold. This isn’t due to some deep-rooted snobbery as unfortunately I flair up within the hour. As you can imagine, this can be pretty pricey if I want to accessorise myself (hence why I am so delighted with my new ring and its ability to match my outfits).

Honestly, the amount of affordable and fashionable jewellery on the website is astonishing, and all of the extensive collection is sterling silver or 9ct gold (so no itchy ears, hands or necks – jewellerybox are assay assured so quality is guaranteed) so you can cast all that tacky faded costume jewellery aside.

If you are wondering what to get as a gift, now you know (you can thank me later).

What do you think of my sapphire gemstone ring? What is your favourite product on the jewellerybox website?

A quick peek at the Powerpuff x Moschino collection

Every 90’s kid just screamed a little. Yes, Moschino (headed by Jeremy Scott) and The Powerpuff Girls (Cartoon Network) have collaborated as part of their spring/summer 2016 collection.

Moschino has successfully mixed high-end fashion with sugar, spice and everything nice. Not a hint of Chemical X in sight!

The Powerpuff x Moschino collection launched in Los Angeles earlier this week featuring an array of adorably kick-ass clothing, leisure wear and accessories.

Emblazoned with images of cutesy Bubbles, sassy Blossom and boisterous Buttercup (everyone had a favourite), demonstrating pop-culture at its finest and igniting some serious nostalgia on the runway.

Some of the Powerpuff x Moschino collection is already available to shop on the Moschino website.

I am being truly optimistic in hoping I will get my hands on the green short dress. At £371, I would be so lucky.

Let’s face it, every 90’s girl and boy wanted to be a superhero after binge-watching this terrific trio and this collection is utterly fabulous.

What do you think of the Powerpuff x Moschino¬†collaboration? What’s your favourite item in the collection?

Balmain-HM-01-vert

When a beloved high-street and designer fashion duo meet something beautiful is destined, there is no way that Balmain x H&M can fail to impress.

I have been obsessing over this collaboration for months now and will be one of those individuals who will be eagerly at H&M’s doors tomorrow morning¬†awaiting the store to open.

The only scary factor about all of this (other than how long everyone has had to wait) is the price tags. Although an absolute steal in comparison to Balmain’s usual prices, some items are not exactly high street affordable.

BALMAIN-Beaded-Jacket-£299-vert

I have two personal favourites, the longline beaded jacket and the emerald green dress.

The secrets revealed! My outfit tonight is one of the first pieces from the H&M x Balmain designer collaboration! #HMBALMAINATIO @balmainparis @hm

A photo posted by Kendall Jenner (@kendalljenner) on

The beaded jacket was first seen on Kendall Jenner when the collaboration was announced at the Billboard Awards back in May, coming alongside a price tag of £299.99. The detail on this jacket is just exquisite, and although I desperately want it, the emerald dress will have to take precedence.

BALMAIN-green-dress-£119-vert

The emerald green dress is a little more friendly (I said little more) on the bank balance at £119.99. This beautifully detailed sequin dress is perfect for the festive season. However, its plunging neckline does bring with it fear, tomorrow will reveal just how risqué it really is, if I even manage to try it on that is!

White-Logo-Top-£24-vert

The most affordable item of clothing in the collection is the Balmain T-shirt at £24.99. This logo T-shirt has gendered versions with similar styles being sold by Balmain for around £150.

The Balmain x H&M collection features both fashion and accessories and will be available online here and  in selected stores from tomorrow. But really, you should already have had November 5th in your diary from May. Take a peek at the full collection here.

What do you think of the collection? What would be your go to item?

Blazer – H&M // Vest ~ New Look // Jeans ~ H&M // Boots ~ Top Or //Bag ~ Fiorelli

This is a simple look for me. I woke up far too late and did not have time to hunt through my wardrobe before meeting my mother for coffee and a nice chat. I rushed into Oxford and she was ten minutes late – could have jazzed it up a bit really. I’m also in the mindset that adding a black blazer automatically makes an outfit smart, I could be wrong.

wpid-img_20140828_170814.jpg

It’s been a bit drizzly back home so we had our coffee sheltered, nattered and decide to hunt out some books, philosophy for her and English literature for myself. We searched the depths of the Oxfam bookshop to no avail for my poor mother (I got her some nice filter coffee to cheer her up). I, on the other hand, found some beautiful copies of the classics including Shakespeare’s sonnets, Tess of the D’urbervilles and Where Angels Fear to Tread. My obsession with books with pretty covers is getting slightly out of hand now – I have six copies of Sense and Sensibility. Overall, it was a lovely day and I fear boots may be a staple once more as summer seems to be slipping away.

What is your go to smart casual outfit?
