Beauty boxes have been circulating for a while now, filled with makeup and skin care items galore. Yet it seems that nail varnish and nail care is often neglected within these.
nailbox have the answer, their new monthly subscription box is entirely dedicated to nails, providing four nail varnish colours (often including a top coat too, unfortunately the May box did not) and a nail care accessory each month.
“Keeping abreast of the latest nail trends, can be expensive and time consuming. At nailbox, we take the fuss out of your nail drama.”
The May 2015 edition contained “four super spring shades”, including: Nicole by OPI Modern Family (Alex By The Books at 15ml), Rimmel London 60 second nail polish (Lucky Lilac at 8ml), Essie nail lacquer (Status Symbol at 13.5ml) and Orly Color Blast nail polish (Fiery Orange Chunky Glitter at 11ml).
Alex By The Books – This mint green has to be my favourite varnish in the collection, this cool pastel really is key to the spring theme of the box and best of all, I found that it doesn’t chip!
Lucky Lilac – This pastel lilac continues the spring theme, and this “one-coat nail polish” promises a drying time of 60 seconds. The latter is certainly true, but I found that even though one coat satisfied, I opted for a second anyway.
Status Symbol – Essie varnishes never fail to impress, this particular one has a cool pastel undertone and is hot pink in colour, a really versatile and fun shade for the spring into the summer.
Fiery Orange Chunky Glitter – I was surprised this was a solid colour in its own right, initially thinking it just a glitter top coat. The orange varnish contains pretty and bright metallic gold chunks and shards of glitter. The addition of the rubber grip handle really eased application also.
Overall, the selection of well-known industry brands proved very impressive. The bright colours and the inclusion of a glitter varnish really appealed to me, and I hope this will be a continual theme in the summer boxes.
“In addition to a selection of three or four colours, each month your nailbox will include a tool or treatment to keep your nails in tip-top condition.”
Also included was the Elegant Touch Cuticle Pusher & Nail Cleaner accessory, a stainless steel tool, with a 5 year guarantee and textured and secure grip. The rounded edge worked wonders on my cuticles, which have been in a state of disarray for a while now.
nailbox is an affordable subscription box that offers a variety of branded nail polishes and an accessory delivered to your home at the end of each month.
