Max Factor Colour Adapt

A Max Factor Colour Adapt in Natural Sand review

Every girl has their favourite go-to high street foundation and mine is, and always will be Max Factor Colour Adapt in Natural Sand!

Not only is it a wonderful quality and lasting, it is also good for those on a budget! A flawless coverage without the extortionate price tag!

I often opt for a shade slightly darker than my own, I am fair so like to try and create a bit of a healthier glow. With that in mind, I always reach for Max Factor Colour Adapt in Natural Sand*.

I got this little gem from 123 Hair and Beauty, a website that offers an affordable selection of hair and beauty products (even cheaper than the high street!) to keep even the busiest girl satisfied and beautiful. Order before 2pm on a weekday and they will even ship out your order on that day!

So, what do I think of Max Factor Colour Adapt in Natural Sand

The Max Factor Colour Adapt Foundation works by adapting to your skin tone, offering a ‘flawless look that’s perfectly beautiful and perfectly you’. As our skin is not always the same tone it works by reflecting pigmentations to blend away any of your imperfections and leave you glowing.

It dispenses as a liquid but has a mouse like feel on application, leaving my skin feeling soft and fully covered. Although I have quite clear skin, it can sometimes get a little dry in the winter months or when I have been lacking a proper facial moisturisation routine.

This is why I opt for liquid foundation and Max Factor in particular, it is fabulous for all skin types! Be it oily, dry or combination so it really suits everyone!

Now all you have to do for flawless skin is grab your desired colour!

What is your favourite foundation? Have you tried Max Factor Colour Adapt?

Lush Season's Tweetings Christmas Box

Lush Season’s Tweetings Christmas gift box review

Who can resist Lush at Christmas? The bright wrapping paper, the array of content and the delicious scents filling the air of your bathroom – and lets face it, the entire house. Actually, who can ever resist Lush products?

I found the Lush Seasons Tweetings* box at my door this festive season containing an amazing variety of skin-loving treats to aid you against the chill. The box includes the Twilight shower gel, Ro’s Argan body conditioner, Tiny Hands solid hand cream and Snowcake star soap.

So, what did I think of the Lush Season’s Tweetings gift box?

Twilight shower gel (100g)

This is my absolute favourite of the Christmas limited edition shower gels. It smells absolutely amazing and is a ridiculously unique fragrance. It is a very sweet lavender smell. I often associate the smell of lavender as a harshly lasting and a rather dull fragrance. However, this shower gel has taken that smell and added a load of sugary goodness and some wonderful silver shimmer too! It really does get me off to sleep after a long day at university and leaves you feeling wonderfully calm and relaxed. I had previously done a review of this wonderfully scented product here.

Tiny Hands solid hand cream (60g)

Tiny Hands is a solid hand cream bar shaped as a delicate little palm. It is a very creamy bar and although small proves to be a very hard worker indeed as it nourishes your hands, soothing and repairing the skin. It leaves my hands feeling fabulously smooth and fresh with its beautiful floral fragrance of chamomile, marigold and lime flower oils. Leaving you, and your hands, feeling wonderfully relaxed! The addition of cocoa and fair trade shea butter provide a gorgeous feel for that additional moisturisation. I find it goes on quite oily but give it a few minutes and the product sinks in a treat! I prefer an oilier product on my hands anyway, and I find this perfect for my winter damaged skin!

Ro’s Argan body conditioner (45g)

This rose oil scented body moisturiser is just delicious. Packed full of nourishing oils and butters, the ingredients include argan oil, brazil nut oil, almond oil, fair trade shea butter, cocoa butter, cupuaçu butter and oji berry juice! The smell of the rose will leave you feeling luxurious while the ingredients work their magic softening the skin. All you have to do is smooth it all over and rinse off!

Snowcake star soap (70g)

This beautiful festive soap comes shaped as a glittering gold star smelling of sweet Christmas treats with its marzipan and fruit fragrance, it works a treat also! This soap cleanses and nourishes the skin and lathers up wonderfully, leaving the beautiful rapeseed and coconut oil to treat the skin.

This box is a festive exclusive! Fear not though, Lush gift boxes are available all year round with a variety of amazing products.

What do you think of Season’s Tweetings? What beauty products did you get this Christmas?

Soap & Glory Fabulipstick

Soap & Glory Fabulipstick in Perfect Day review

I have always adored Soap and Glory products and have used them for numerous years, stocking up madly at Christmas time on all their gorgeous limited edition boxes.

When I discovered that Soap and Glory had really worked on their cosmetic range I was desperate to try some of their new products. I chose the collagen boosting, super-colour Fabulipstick in Perfect Day*.

The packaging a mix of pretty pink and cheeky black, a 1950’s British pin up boldly clutching onto her oversized prize (Fabulipstick of course!). The casing is black with pink print, the body gold as you remove the lid, a very glamorous looking item. What I noticed instantly was the delicious smell, probably down to the addition of shea and monoi butter.

So, what did I think of the Soap & Glory Fabulipstick in Perfect Day?

It has a creamy matte texture yet applies like a dream, with a luxuriously rich dark beige colour and a warm rosy pink finish. It is one of those shades that works day and night, utterly versatile and extremely wearable, with enough oomph to make a bold impact in the evening. I think the shade would compliment any skin tone and managed to look good on someone with one as pale as mine.

I found the lipstick really did make my lips look plumper. However, I am not entirely sure if it was down to the collagen boosting ingredients or the amazing colour!
I can only put the moisturisation and long-lasting nature of the colour down to the vitamin E in the Fabulipstick. After a few days of wear my lips continued to feel in a great condition with a lovely softness.
The colour of the lipstick is just perfect, a staple shade for any lipstick lover. It is long lasting, offering colour for hours and a subtle shine. The Fabulipstick is also available in the shades Naked Beige and Red My Lips, here is to hoping they bring out more!

Soap and Glory products are only available from Boots online or retail stores and the Fabulipstick costs only £9! Get your hands on one now, your pout will love you for it!

MyMix Foundation in Fair01

MyFace Cosmetics MyMix Foundation in Fair01 review

I find foundation to be the most basic and important product in any beauty regime, it can really make or break a look.

First step is to find the right colour for you. This is something I often struggle with, it would genuinely shock you the amount of money I have wasted with my naivety when on the hunt for the perfect foundation. The next step is deciding the type of foundation you want, be it liquid, powder of mouse. I opt for liquid, finding it to working better on my normal/dry skin.
I decided to try out MyFace Cosmetics MyMix Foundation in Fair01*. MyFace Cosmetics work via a simple and effective system when it comes to their products, placing them into one of three categories: fair, medium and medium/dark. With this in mind, they use well-known celebrities to give you an understanding of what tiers (labeled from 1 to 3, the latter being the darkest) you fall into within the category. I found this extremely helpful, matching my skin tone (Fair01) to the likes of Scarlett Johansson and Emma Watson in seconds.
I found the contents to be quite fluid and this was rather frustrating. This in mind, I applied the foundation using my finger tips and my well-loved ‘dot’ method (I shall show this one day!) and the coverage was lovely. It felt like a second skin with its matt finish and clean smell. After a day of wear it was still firmly on, and my skin looked bright and felt wonderfully smooth. I was amazed that it had not dried it out and left my face feeling hydrated.

So, did MyFace Cosmetics MyMix Foundation in Fair01 offer the healthy glow they promised?

My answer is yes! This is the perfect foundation for normal/dry/combination skin tones (I find liquid foundations on oily skin tend to wear off quickly but it may work with a primer). However, the ‘colour-correcting formula’ can only go so far. I believe the product to sufficiently reduce redness but am doubtful as to whether it would work as an entire cover up on acne prone skin.

I also adored the colour match method, it is as flawless as the foundation and guarantees a perfect match every time! The packaging is also a bonus, the tube is sleek, making it easy to slip into the smallest of bags. With impressive coverage and delightful texture, there is no need to worry about top ups!
You will feel the fairest of them all! If you are as pale as me that is…
