Nosebag resturant, Oxford review

The Nosebag resturant Oxford review

Suprisingly, I have never been to the¬†Nosebag resturant in Oxford. Located up a flight of stairs on¬†Saint Michael’s street, this resturant has an incredibly homely feel with wood furnishing, quaint decor and¬†carafes on each table. The environment is welcoming and relaxed. –¬†it has even been around since the 1970s.

With a ton of seating inside, it is perfect for groups and a fab stop for breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as offering cakes and alcoholic drinks. The Nosebag resturant offers a limited but varied main menu which also caters for vegetarians and vegans.

You order at the till, choosing your dish and salad or sides as you wait for your plate to be made up. If the item needs a little preperation, you pay and leave and sit with a number. I personally really like paying beforehand as it makes the dining process that little bit swifter.

So, what did I think of the Nosebag resturant Oxford?

For my first visit, I devoured a homemade vegetarian quiche with two side salads. The salad bar selection at the The Nosebag is quite simply amazing, with a creative mix of fresh, delicious and vibrant side dishes. I have to be honest, I would come in for salad alone.

The following week, I savoured a jacket potato with cheese and beans –¬†I am a giant child you see.¬†My boyfriend had the burgandy lamb with seasonal vegetables and thought it superb.

Both occasions, these simple and wholesome dishes were great and the fresh salad bar really is such a fabulous addition to the resturant.

I will be returning to this charming little eaterie again. I think I may have just found my new favourite place for lunch within Oxford.

Have you been to the Nosebag resturant, Oxford? Do you like homemade cuisine in resturants?

How to make healthy banana pancakes at home

So, you are looking to make healthy banana pancakes at home? Well you are certainly in for a treat with this simple, swift and scrumptious recipe.

Healthy banana pancakes ingredients:

  • 2 eggs
  • 2 ripe bananas
  • 1 teaspoon of oil or a few squirts of Frylight
  • A drop of vanilla eccense (optional)
  • Toppings to suit (optional)

Preperation time: 5 mins

Healthy Banana Pancakes recipe

These delicious homemade banana pancakes are a healthy morning alternative to your usual breakfast. These banana pancakes are great for a variety of reasons, they are easy to make, cheap, and only require two ingredients! Bananas and eggs.

To start off, you are going to want to whisk your two eggs up a treat and set them aside. Next, get your two bananas and mash them to oblivion with the back of a fork or masher.¬†Then, pour the whisked egg into the mashed banana and stir it all in –¬†it isn’t going to look too pretty.

Optionally, you can add vanilla essence (opt out if you prefer) or even oats and other fruit into the mix. Heat your oil or Frylight in a pan and pour a small amount of mixture (think medium sized pancake). Allow for a few minutes to golden up on each side before serving.

For toppings, get creative and embellish with seeds, fruit, yogurt or syrup –¬†saying that, they are delicious on their own.¬†

This recipe creates around 4 medium sized banana pancakes. If you would like more, simply double up!¬†You can always save your leftover mixture for tomorrow’s breakfast, line the bowl with cling film and pop it in the fridge.

These gluten-free and dairy-free homemade banana pancakes are just fabulous in the morning, or even as a snack throughout the day. They are low in calories and fat, high in protein and simply delicious. What more could you want?

What do you think of these healthy banana pancakes? Which ingredients would you add into the mix?

So, what did I think of this beautiful Bubblegum Cake?

The Bubblegum Cake grasped my attention immediately (and there is a lot of pretty cakes to choose from, trust me), it was truly beautiful and definitely had some serious unicorn and mermaid-esque vibes going on. It features bubblegum flavour soft icing, a flavoured sponge and is decorated with pink chocolate, bon bon sweets and an array of sprinkles.

We have ticked the looks box well and truly –¬†but how did it taste?¬†Well, amazing. You would think the bubblegum would be overpowering to a degree and it wasn’t. It was very subtle, the cake was light and fluffy.

You can tell a lot of love went into its making and the homemade nature of the product completely drew me.

Dessert Delivered Bakery says: “This is a real favourite with our younger fans and tastes amazing!”¬†Well, I am 24 and it spoke to my inner child and vibrant dessert loving soul.

Bake cakes without eggs or butter recipe

As a  busy working girl, I often find myself often lacking the ingredients I need to create any real baking miracles.

However, this doesn’t stop the cravings and I find myself in the kitchen at odd hours attempting to do so nevertheless. So, without both eggs and butter (I don’t eat it anyway so often a useless investment) I set off to make my cakes.

Browsing around online I took the influence for this recipe from a variety of sites and tweaked it till I was satisfied. This recipe is perfect to adapt to suit a whole range of dietary requirements.

  • 1 1/2 cups of plain flour
  • 2/3 cup of soft brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Teaspoon of vanilla extract (for vanilla cakes)
  • 1/3 cup of sunflower oil
  • 1 cup of water
  • 3 tablespoons of cocoa (for chocolate cakes)

Instructions for perfect simple cakes:

Firstly, preheat the oven to 180 degrees before you begin mixing. Take the plain flour and salt and sift together in a large bowl and mix until smooth. Add in the soft brown sugar and continue to stir until you get a creamy texture before adding the rest of the ingredients. Place the mixture in cases or a tin and leave to bake for around 25 minutes or until firm to the touch. Allow your delicious cakes to cool before decorating and enjoy!

How often do you change traditional recipes? What do you think of this one?
