I decided to treat myself this festive season with a little Glossier beauty haul gift from me, to me.
I have been tempted by these products for a while now and with Christmas around the corner, here’s what I decided to get:
I’ve wanted Glossier You for ages now. What drew me in was the idea that it seems to adapt depending on the wearer.
Firstly, its top note is a spicy pink pepper. Secondly, we have the heart of the perfume, woodsy and warm ambrette seeds, and ambery ambrox. Finally, a floral iris to complete the scent.
I really like it on. On me, Glossier You smells floral and very fresh. It’s an extremely complimentary perfume, especially in the daytime.
Futuredew is an oil-serum hybrid that leaves you with an enviable natural dewy glow. Packaged within a gorgeous holographic bottle, it’s used as the last step of your normal skincare routine and promises to last up to 12 hours.
Futuredew is full of nourishing oils and plant-based extracts to keep your skin moisturised and bright.
I have noticed an immediate difference and a bit of product goes a long way. My skin looks brighter and happier!
Cookie Butter Balm Dotcom
I was so psyched to try the limited edition Cookie Butter Balm Dotcom. This golden buttery lip balm offers a speculoos taste alongside a sparkling caramel shimmer.
Balm Dotcom hydrates your lips due to its formulation of antioxidants and natural emollients, such as castor oil, beeswax, and lanolin.
It’s sweet, spicy, and ultimately, delicious.
I’ve bought Bow Brow in shade brown a few times now and I love it. It’s the perfect daytime eyebrow pomade. It ensures fluffy and defined brows with a buildable formula.
The brushable pomade is a creamy way that holds your eyebrow hairs in place delicately without clumping.
This conditioning formula contains oleic acid, lecithin, and soluble collagen.
The Ordinary has been making waves in the skincare and beauty world for a while now. The company came to the forefront of people’s mind when now deceased co-CEO, Brandon Trueaxe, announced in a meltdown post that the company and its sister company, Deciem, would be closing down in October 2018.
Alas, this was not the case – thankfully. Brandon’s visionary influence on the brand has enabled it to thrive.
Feeling indulgent I decided to have an oh so affordable splurge on ASOS. not only are The Ordinary products cruelty free, they are quite simply fantastic. I fell in love with the minimalistic packaging, the transparency of ingredients and their wonderful properties and ethos.
Its clinical skincare and beauty formulations feature “nourishing oils and innovative serums that are free of parabens, sulphates and mineral oils.”
My The Ordinary skincare overhaul included the following products:
I have normal/slightly dry skin. So, for me, a hydrating moisturiser is a must. The Ordinary Natural Moisturising Factors + HA provides just that. It is a light cream that offers instant absorption and hydration, day or night. It doesn’t feel sticky or overly heavy on the skin.
This particular moisturiser contains 11 amino acids, working collaboratively to smooth, brighten and protect. I’ve been using it morning and night (except on the mornings I use the primer) and I have found my skin left feeling a lot softer and brighter.
I always love a new primer. There is nothing nicer than finding a product that brings your skin and make-up to life. This primer does just that, offering a hydrating application and sought after matte finish. I skipped my morning moisturiser on that days that I used this, and my face still felt incredible without it. My make-up applied and stayed like a dream, and my skin didn’t feel whacked after a days coverage.
It is no secret that argan oil is a skincare and haircare wonder product. This organic argan oil contains oleic and linoleic fatty acids, known for their protective and smoothing properties.
I used this oil on my skin and hair, applying a few drops to every other evening after my normal skincare routine. On the skin, I found it a lot thicker than the other oils featured and preferred using The Ordinary 100% Plant-Derived Squalane instead. Saying this, it helped to dull any dry patches (this weather eh?) and gave my skin a wonderful glow. Although it is a slightly thicker oil, it doesn’t clog up pores or feel overly greasy. I’d say, use it a few times a week if your skin is particularly dry.
On the other hand, using this on my hair has left it feeling sensational. If you are looking for something to give your hair smoothness and shine, argan oil is the way forward.
As explained, I have fallen head over heels for the 100% plant-derived squalane. This oil-based product is so lightweight and smooth. Used daily, you feel an instant difference in terms of hydration and brightness. It left my skin feeling soft and supple, working so well combined with the moisturiser. It is now part of my daily routine.
Interestingly, it can also be used on your hair to offer heat protection.
I am not a skincare junkie so embarrassingly, I am not overly au fait with the retinol hype. Keeping it simple, retinol works to rejuvenate the skin, targeting fine lines and other signs of ageing.
Saying this, many skincare experts advise that you start with the lowest dosage of retinol and build your tolerance slowly over time. Retinol is not suited to all skin types and fortunately, I found that this product worked really well for me. My skin is hydrated and fine lines are visibly reduced. I used it in my t-zone predominatly a few times a week. I found this anti-ageing oil was best applied in the evening before night creams.
So, there you have it! I have to admit, The Ordinary products will be remaining a skincare staple for me. Affordable and efficient, there really is nothing like bright and hydrated skin to put you in a fabulous mood!
Have you ever tried any The Ordinary products? Which items would you choose from the above?

Stemuderm: A complete overview of this highly effective anti-aging serum
While wrinkles, loose skin and other signs of aging are usually associated with the elderly, these particular problems may become present at a much younger age if a person does not attend to their skin through the inclusion of effective skincare products and protecting their skin against common exposures that cause age-related symptoms to appear earlier than they should appear.
The first step to preventing and, of course, treating premature aging is to act the moment these symptoms start to appear, but people do not always realize they are experiencing premature aging before they notice those fine lines and saggy skin in the mirror.
About Face Skin Care advises that common signs of premature aging include sun spots at an early age, spots appearing on the chest and the neck, itchy and dry skin, changes to the shape of eyes and wrinkles that start to form along the cheeks. When the jawline becomes loose, it is also a sign of premature aging.
Once these signs are noticed, a person should start to implement more effective protective measurements in their daily skincare regimen and ensure they include a series of anti-aging products in their skincare arsenal to ensure these problems does not become more severe.
Today, we want to talk about Stemuderm, a professional-strength anti-aging product from Solvaderm, developed to assist with providing individuals who would like to protect their skin against premature aging and treat signs that are already present through a dermatologically-formulated product.
Stemuderm is a skincare serum that is promoted as an anti-wrinkle treatment cream, but the product does much more than simply reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. While this is the primary purpose of the product’s formula, the dermatologists behind this product have also includes certain ingredients with the aim of increasing the natural levels of both collagen and elastin found within the user’s skin. Since these are essential for firm skin, the use of Stemuderm will increase skin firmness gradually; thus leading to skin that is less saggy and loose.
Who makes Stemuderm?
Stemuderm is manufactured by Solvaderm, a brand in the skincare industry that only specializes in top quality products that work. They stay clear of any ingredients that have not gone through extensive scientific research and only utilizes ingredients that have not only been proven to effectively contribute to healthier skin, but also proven not to be harmful to the skin of the user. Stemuderm is one of Solvaderm’s top selling products, but certainly isn’t the only product produced by this brand. Stemuderm is also often combined with some other products also produced by Solvaderm to improve the results the customer is able to experience.
What are the advantages of Stemuderm?
Thousands of people are turning to Stemuderm to help them reduce the appearance of age-related problems, such as fine lines and wrinkles, age spots and more. Let’s take a look at the many benefits that these people are able to enjoy from using Stemuderm on a daily basis:
·Stemuderm is a cost-effective alternative to more expensive anti-aging treatments currently available on the market.
·Stemuderm can be used as a preventative and protective measure by individuals in their twenties or thirties. For those in their forties or older can use the product as an effective way to reduce the appearance of age-related problems they have already started to experience.
·A list of clinical research studies that have been used by the dermatologists who formulated Stemuderm can be found on the product page of Stemuderm. These studies offer an interested person proof of how effective each Stemuderm ingredient found in the it’s formula is in reversing the signs of aging and protecting against additional signs of aging.
Is Stemuderm safe to use?
Considering the safety of any product that a person is about to use, be the product natural or pharmaceutical, is very important. A product that can cause side-effects may lead to potentially harmful or even dangerous complications. Thus, there is a common concern about the safety of Stemuderm amongst individuals who are interested in buying this particular anti-wrinkle cream.
Firstly, all the ingredients that the dermatologists of Solvaderm have included in Stemuderm’s formula have gone through scientific studies. During these studies, the scientists did not only study the particular ingredients, but also monitored the effects that the ingredients had on participants in clinical trials. Here, the scientists deem the ingredients that causes a significant amount of side-effects unsafe and these are not used by Solvaderm’s dermatologists.
For these reasons, Stemuderm is considered a safe products to be used by the general population who are experiencing issues with their skin, such as signs of premature aging, dry areas on the skin or acne breakouts.
While deemed safe to use, users should be aware of potential ingredients that may experience an allergic reaction to. A complete list of ingredients can be found on the Stemuderm product page. Potential users who do have allergies should look at this list and see if there are any ingredients they are allergic to.
How much does Stemuderm cost?
It is important to consider the price of a product like Stemuderm prior to buying the particular product in question as products that are based on scientific research often charges quite a large amount of money for their products. Fortunately, Stemuderm delivers a professional-strength formula at a price that many customers can afford. A bottle of Stemuderm costs $79.99 – each bottle contains 50ml of the advanced anti-aging serum.
Where can I buy Stemuderm?
Even though Solvaderm is a local brand that is produced within the United States, the product can be purchased by individuals from other parts of the world as well. A concern amongst many interested individuals is the fact that it might be difficult to find the best location to purchase Stemuderm from.
Customers residing within the United States can purchase Stemuderm directly from Solvaderm’s online store. A few weeks ago, I was introduced to Sabai Soaps. An ethical and family run soap business based in the UK. Their aim is to present the beautiful beauty products of Asia to the European market.
All Sabai Soaps products are organic, natural and vegan-friendly, handmade in Thailand from exquisite natural ingredients before being lovingly packed back to the UK to be sent out to their new owners across the world.
I was very lucky indeed to be gifted the Green Seaweed Soap*, this lavish soap arrived beautifully packaged in printed Thai paper and emitted the most wonderfully subtle peppermint scent – and this was before I had even opened it!
So, what did I think of the Green seaweed soap?
This refreshing soap bar is rich in essential vitamins and oils, and left my skin feeling clean and soft with its fabulous combination of ingredients – who doesn’t adore smelling fresh and having really soft hands and skin?
It contains a wonderful array of 100 per cent natural and cruelty-free ingredients, including coconut oil to soften and treat the skin, peppermint oil to leave it glowing, and the addition of seaweed to exfoliate, dragging out excess oil in order to leave the skin feeling revitalised.
If that isn’t fabulous enough, 20 per cent of all Sabai Soaps company profits are donated to local charities within the communities in which they work with to produce these beautiful soaps.
Having used the Green Seaweed Soap for over a week now, I am utterly delighted with the results, it has worked wonders on my dry skin and has proved to be lasting too! You can shop the rest of Sabai Soaps natural soap collection here.
What do you think of Sabai Soaps? Which handmade soap is your favourite?
After being gifted this Barry M nail varnish by my beautiful friend Paulina I have been wearing it relentlessly for the last fortnight. I am not even kidding, I have truly fallen in love.
This nail varnish is Arabian, a duo-chrome colour of gold and green. It is so vivid and striking and honestly reminds me of mermaids (particularly Disney’s Ariel who would totally rock this colour if animation sprung to life).
The varnish is part of Barry M’s Aquarium collection which hosts four other duo-chrome varnishes and two glitter top coats.
The duo-chromes are all named after seas, the pink/gold is Mediterranean, the peach/gold is Caspian and blue/gold is Pacific.
Arabian goes on very well and you may even get away with the one coat if you are careful and dainty (unfortunately, I am not). I always finish with a top coat and pray for a miracle that I will not chip my nails. You could always opt for the Aquarium glitter top coats (Mermaid and Treasure Chest) if you want a bit more sparkle.
I am now a serious fan of duo-chromes and hope to adopt the other three Aquarium varnishes. In respect of their name they are beautifully aquatic and I can never resist a vivid green manicure (perhaps I am odd).
What do you think of Arabian? What is your favourite colour nail varnish?
We believe true beauty comes from the heart. For us, beauty is much more than a pretty face. It’s about feeling good and doing good, too.
Beauty With Heart is the latest celebration of the work from The Body Shop. It details their products and how they care and support those around them.

Labeling themselves as ‘the pioneers of fair trade in beauty’.
Around £200,000 of their sales from Christmas gifts have gone on to build five schools in India, Nepal, Ghana and Honduras.

The Body Shop Divine Calm and Sensual Massage Oils review
Looking after your skin is a must and most of us often neglect to (I am often guilty also). It is not the first product I would reach for in store, but I was intrigued by The Body Shop massage oils, a company renowned for its quality and organic and fair trade products.
The Divine Calm Relaxing is just lovely. A blend of pure French lavender sweetened by locally sourced camomile. I often find lavender overpowering but this delicate mix and gets you off to a relaxing sleep, a real soothing treat after a long day. The sweet almond oil softens the skin as the jojoba oil moisturises and softens the skin.
So, How do I feel about The Body Shop Divine Calm and Sensual Massage Oils?
The Sensual massage oil is a more seductive number in comparison, with rich floral and citrus notes. It is suitable for all skin types, inspired by Polynesian massage rituals and is wonderfully conditioning for the skin with the inclusion of fair trade marula oil.
Use a small amount of your chosen oil and warm it upon the skin. Use it yourself, get another to give you a lovely massage or place in your bath for a wonderful soak. It has also worked wonders on soothing my sunburn over this blissfully warm week!
Which of these would you choose? Do you use massage oils as part of your skin care routine?
Introducing the limited edition Shea Honey Hand Cream. L’Occitane recently hosted a giveaway on their Facebook page. On reaching 75000 likes, they promised to send out vouchers so customers could redeem one tube of 30ml hand cream.
Customers were allowed to choose between Shea Honey, Shea Butter, Lavender, Cherry Blossom and Rose des Champs.
To be brutally honest, I’ve never purchased an item from L’Occitane before. My previous experience with the brand comes from sneaking a dash of my mum’s creams from time to time.
The L’Occitane Shea Honey Hand Cream offers a delicious and sweet scent of honey, which proves to be very long lasting.
In addition, the hand cream contains twenty per cent natural shea butter. This works wonders, nurturing and revitalising winter damaged hands.
The thick white cream soaks into the skin, leaving hands instantly soft and nourished without the usual stickiness associated with hand creams.
SO, WHAT DID I THINK?
The creamy formula is also gentle enough for those with sensitive skin thanks to the lovely natural ingredients within. They work in tandem to soothe and comfort tired and aching hands.
Finally, the packaging is adorable! A little illustrated brown bear sits eating his honey as his bee companions buzz around him tending to their hive.
Have you tried L’Occitane hand creams before? What was your experience?
